Divyo Kuhlmann

I have had the great pleasure knowing Divyo Kuhlmann through our work with the Spa at Sedona Rouge. She is an intuitive and compassionate person and a professional in her practice.  So when she called me to ask for help in promoting the Awakening Love and Recovering Connection workshop, December 18-20, 2009, I was intrigued. We talked for some time and I asked her many questions to better understand the benefits of attending the workshop.

Awakening Love and Recovering Connection, what does this mean? You know how you can hear something over and over and it just doesn’t connect with you and then someone says it a different way and WHAM, you get it from your head to your heart? I think that may be the experience one has while attending this workshop. That certainly is the experience I had while researching the Hellinger Approach.

Suzi Tucker a close friend of Divyo’s and will be presenting the workshop. She is the co-founder of the Bert Hellinger Institute and co-founder of Zeig, Tucker & Theisen, Publishers, which publishes the leading names in psychology, psychiatry, social work, and psychotherapy.

I learned from Tucker that “the workshop offers new ways  to understand ourselves and others and that this dimensional approach provides unique access to often-hidden family dynamics that influence how we feel, how we act, and how we live.”  She explained that, “symptoms of unexplained sadness, loneliness, fear, self-destructive behavior, failed relationships, addiction, depression, illness and anger and other problems are common unconscious expressions of loyalty and love for members of generations past. The Family Constellation Approach helps disentangle personal fates from the fates of other members of the system and provides the opportunity for deep change to begin to emerge.” WOW, how cool is this?  The language is different, the descriptions are different, it makes sense and it feels grounded.

The December 2009 workshop is the first in a series of Family Constellation workshops in Sedona and is just in time for the holidays, whether gathering with family members or facing another celebration without family. Workshop participants will experience firsthand the Family Constellation work pioneered by Bert Hellinger.

The workshop consists of sessions on Friday, December 18 from 6-9pm; Saturday, December 19 from 10 am-6pm and Sunday, December 20 from 10 am-6pm. The cost of the three-day workshop is $300 and it is requested that payment be made in the form of a check or money order to The Bert Hellinger Institute, USA, LLC. For more information about the workshop and the renowned Hellinger Approach visit www.HellingerApproach.com or call Divyo Kuhlmann at 928.204.2489.

The workshop will be held at the Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa and special group rates starting at $139 per night, double occupancy will be extended to attendees of the conference. For guest room reservations call 928.203.4111 and mention the title of the workshop to receive the special room rate.

The Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa is located at 2250 W. SR 89A in Sedona, AZ. For more information, visit www.SedonaRouge.com or call 928. 203.4111.

I hope you will attend and post your impressions of your experience to this blog.

WINE TOURS AND TASTING ESCAPES IN SEDONA

November 9, 2009

Last Sunday the travel section in the Arizona Republic featured “Grape Escape – A Tasting Tour of Northern Arizona Wineries.” I was delighted to see the article because the staff of the Sedona Rouge and I had just experienced and posted two new epoch wine package getaways and vacations to www.SedonaRouge.com.  Arizona Republic’s wine critic, Mark Tarbell recommended five top pics. We love them all; the wineries and the wine makers are amazing – we hope you will enjoy the scenery, wine, wine makers and experiences as much as we do.

SEDONA ROUGE WINE TOURS and TASTING VACATION PACKAGE

Sedona Adventure Tours is our guide and transportation partner on these wine tours because their knowledge of the Verde Valley is expansive, they are adventure seekers and the give a factual and fun tour. We decided to create two packages, one for two nights with a tour of three wineries, and one for three nights with a tour of six-wineries.  One of the best parts about these tours is that you make your home base Sedona and take excursions to Verde Valley’s wine country which leaves the rest of your time open to explore the beauty and charm of Sedona’s Red Rock Country.

If this is your first time to Sedona we recommend you take the Sedona Trolley as it is truly is the best way to learn what there is to see and do in Sedona. That way you are not wasting your time wondering where you should go first!

If you’ve been here before you will want to revisit Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, it is timeless and is a destination experience unto itself. The concierge at the Sedona Rouge will be your best resource to help you plan your visit. If you want to experience a hike they will direct you to a hike that best suits your capabilities, if you are interested in a guided jeep tour they will match a tour with your desires. Use them and your time in Sedona will be spent wisely!

Until then, cheers!

SEDONA SNOWS

October 29, 2009

Is this snow?  Is this October? Do I live in Sedona, Arizona?

Yes, these are some of the questions that were running through my mind this afternoon as I watched tiny white flakes fall out of the sky.  OK it wasn’t much but nevertheless, it was snowing. All of the sudden it’s cold and it’s Halloween.

Armor and I will be in Uptown passing out tons and tons of candy in front of the Sedona Trolley Depot Halloween night.  As usual we expect to see a couple of thousand Trick or Treaters (and Tweeters) throughout the evening.

Should be lots of fun.  See you there!

NEW YORK CITY BOUND WITH WINE IN MIND

September 28, 2009

Sedona, known for its incredible Red Rock Views, is slowly (as any fine wine does) becoming known as Wine Country.  Ed Conway, General Manager of Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa will be taking that message to esteemed members of the press in New York City in mid October.

Sedona’s Verde Valley is home to Echo Canyon Vineyard & Winery, Page Springs Cellars, Alcantara Vineyards,  Javelina Leap Winery, Caduceus Cellars, Freitas Vineyard, Sycamore Canyon Winery, Oak Creek Vineyards, Jerome Winery, Granite Creek Vineyards, San Dominique Winery, Bitter Creek Winery and Painted Lady Vineyard.

The Sedona Rouge private label is bottled by Page Springs Cellars. Owner and Winemaker Eric Glomski has become a household name in the region as has Jon Marcus of Echo Canyon.

The Verde Valley/Jerome region has produced fruits and vegetables for over 100 years.  Jon Marcus’s Echo Canyon  produces varietals such as Syrah, Merlot, Cabernet, Cabernet Freanc and Zinfadel.

At Page Springs Cellars they primarily work with Syrah, Petite Sirah, Grenache and Mourvedre. They also dabble with other red grapes such as Cabernet Pfeffer, Counoise and Cinsault. White grapes include Viognier, Rousanne and Marsanne. The flavorful grapes of the Rhone will always be their focus.

Alcantara Vineyards is one of the special locations that the  Sedona Rouge reserves for weddings and private affairs. Views abound of vine-covered hills at the convergence of two rivers.  Owner Barbara Predmore and her husband Bob have developed a vineyard community and winery making wines that are comparable to the best of California and Europe.

For the 2009 Wholefoods Consumers Choice Award, Javelina Leaps 2008 Estate Barbera, a 100% Northern Arizona grown and made win, won hands down. The fruit is from their steep virgin, volcanic slopes and is part of their Estate plan. A medium bodied and slightly creamy with plum, cherry and nutmeg notes. It has a wonderful earthy finish hinting of black truffle mushrooms…it is a WOW!

The chef at Sedona Rouge loves tastings and parings and the Rouge features some pretty unique packages such as Water to Wine, and there’s more to come. Conway plans to unveil some pretty cool packages in NYC that feature Red Rock Views with Wine, Food, Tastings and Tours.   So with wine in mind – cheers!

Happy Birthday

September 23, 2009

Tomorrow, September 23, 2009 will be my Mother’s 79th birthday.  Mom lives in Washington State. Mom and Dad have been married for 57 years.  I adore them both and am blessed with their wisdom, humility, sweetness, and sense of humor.

Since most of their lives have revolved around travel, I know they miss the ability to fly and drive to visit family, friends and new places.  ‘Mom loves to see photos of Sedona in travel magazines and on TV Shows (as long as it’s not on Anderson Cooper)!

I love sending Mom and Dad Arizona Highways Magazine, Sedona Magazine, and highlighting websites that feature Sedona like www.visitsedona.com and of course www.SedonaTrolley.com.

.

Since video’s are  becoming fairly easy to make and edit I’m going to try my hand at making  video about “a normal day in Sedona” -not from a tourist view but from a residents view. I may highlight little things like going to the market, stopping in for a cup of Java or returning books to the Sedona Public Library. I’d like to include just a bit of the drive so she can see the views along the way.  After I get that video produced and edited I think I’d like to do one more on the  incredible sculptures around town – like the massive horse in uptown /Cowboy Artists of America, and the black horse rearing up at Tlaquepque and the kids on the bench at Hillside and oh yea, Merlin at the Martini Bar. Not to mention the sculpture at Exposures.

Wow, she’s going to love this. Maybe the first video will be ready by Thanksgiving. In the meantime I hope she likes her gift tomorrow. Happy Birthday Sweet Mom — We love you!!

I would love to know how you close the gap with family and friends, staying connected and relevant with those people who are important to you but not close geographically.

#socialtruth webinar a great help!

September 17, 2009

Today I had the pleasure of taking part in the #socialtruth webinar with Sean Malarkey and Lewis Homes and I am JAZZED! What a wealth of information they provided about both Twitter and LinkedIn. They have already helped me (and my clients) a ton!  And, they are offering an 8-week training session at a great value. I learned so much today and have already become more effective so I signed up for the 8-week training.

If you don’t already know these guys search them out on Twitter and LinkedIn, Sean Malarkey and Lewis Homes.   The 8-week training session will cover- LinkedIn, Twitter, Beyond Basics for both LinkedIn and Twitter,  Advanced Strategies on both LinkedIn & Twitter, Automation, Facebook, UTube, Blogging and tips and consultation with experts.

I’d love to hear from you about where you are in the Social Media learning curve.  Yesterday my friend Olin Robie of NorthStar Marketing sent me this video link… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIFYPQjYhv8 –

After watching this UTube video all I could say was,”REALLY?” and then “WOW & YIKES!” The thing that blows my mind the most is that Email is becoming 2nd to Social Media – think about that! More people around the globe are connecting and communicating via social media rather than email. They are checking their social media pages 1st and mostly, before email!

I’d love to hear from you about your process in the new Social Media world! My email address is:  Patti@PTPR.biz (that stands for Patti Todd, Public Relations). You can find me on Twitter and LinkedIn by searching Patti Todd.

Our home base is in Sedona, Arizona. Our clients are primarily located in northern and southern Arizona i.e.,  Sedona Rouge Hotel & Spa (www.SedonaRouge.com) and the Tubac Golf Resort & Spa (www.TubacGolfResort.com).

Good Day to You & Yours,   Patti Todd

WE REMEMBER

September 11, 2009

As I sit in my little office in Sedona, Arizona I am reminded of this day eight years ago.  My prayers go out to everyone who lost family, friends, co-workers, mothers, fathers, daughters, sons, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, single people, married people, gay-straight, black, white, red, yellow.  We remember!

Drama in the Red Rocks!

September 11, 2009

Sudden down pour at about 2:15 pm today – big hail pouring so fast it covered the ground looking like a heavy snow fall. Water pouring off Red Rock Formations in thundering waterfalls running into backyards causing lots of damage.  Red Rock Collision on Shelby had cars nose up in the mud. Tlaquepaque is a mess. Los Abrigatos Eco Center floaded. Some emergency evacuations. 12 cars reported floating down the creek.  Some homes have floading inside. The storm lasted for about 1 hour.

Now the clean up begins. Neighbors are out walking the streets looking at the damage and talking to each other about their experience.  Tomorrow we’ll help each other  remove debris, mud and rocks.  At about 6:30 all is peacefull and we have a beautiful sunset.
